Happy to say our friends in Seldom Fade will be part of The Summer Break Festival this year!
Seldom Fade is an alternative pop/rock band from Stow, Ohio,
known for their vocal and lyric style in their music. Starting out as an
acoustic duo, frontman Trent Pryor met up with guitarist Xavier Denton, playing
local coffee shops and music clubs for friends and family. In doing so, they
were able to build a strong base in the northeast Ohio area.
Seldom Fade
As their
fan base grew, Pryor talked to Denton about expanding the band along with the
growth of their fan base. Pryor and Denton teamed up with local drummer Kyle
Miner who then introduced Kaylene Widdoes, vocalist of Keys & Corridors, as
a temporary bassist. We finally were getting somewhere, “no more coffee shop
gigs for us” said Pryor. As Widdoes became busier with other projects, she left
Seldom Fade on a mutual note, which left room for bassist Matthew Reneau to
join the group.
Now
releasing their first official single, and album, Seldom Fade will be joining
Chil at The Summer Break Festival.

Town House Captains will be playing The Summer Break Festival on June 28th in Kent, OH.
Town House Captains
Originating from the urban neighborhoods of the dirty three thirty is a pop punk band like you've never heard before. They go by the unique name of Town House Captains, and they bring a type of sexy to the stage with which other bands cannot compete! Performing their first official show in 2011, they have produced two EPs and are currently working on their first full length album. Accalades include Kent Rock Off winners in Fall 2014, and the opening act for Owl City at University of Akron SpringFest 2013. The opening for Owl City was not desired, but due to University of Akron students' crappy taste in music (I mean, Owl City was chosen over Rise Against for Christ's sake!). Anyhow, if you're into amazing music, then follow us on Twitter and friend us on Facebook SEE Y'ALL AT THE SUMMER BREAK FESTIVAL!
Nick Wilkinson and The Featured Players will be playing The Summer Break Festival on June 28th in Kent, OH.
Nick Wilkinson & The Featured Players
Ohio-born songwriter Nick Wilkinson draws from his rural upbringing to deliver unapologetically on wanderlust and love. His live shows have quickly gained a reputation for the enthusiasm and drama on stage. Nick was joined in 2010 by drummer Jeff Matheny and bassist Devin Simmons for a one off Battle of the Bands show, and after overwhelming response, decided to make it a thing. The Featured Players has seen a rotating cast but has solidified with bassist Kevin McManus (Burning Down Broadway) and legendary Akron guitarist Joe Golden. Whether solo or with The Featured Players, he brings a certain honesty to the stage that can only come from singing from the heart. He's in the studio now with The Featured Players recording his much anticipated follow up to the 2012 EP "Nothing For Now" that was called “one of the first gems to be released this year” by Buzzbin Magazine.

John Patrick Halling will be playing The Summer Break Festival on June 28th in Kent, OH. John will be joined by band members Cory Grinder, Johnny Miller, Shawn Cline, and Jimmy Dykes.
John Patrick Halling
John Patrick Halling (born October 9, 1991) is an American singer-songwriter from Akron, OH. The indie-folk rocker is quickly turning heads with his upcoming release. John's new CD, Boy in the Water, is to be released on March 31st and will offer a refreshing take on a vintage sound. Showcasing his variability, the songsmith seamlessly transitions from classic country to raunchy barroom blues. Carried through a sea of memorable melodies and cleverly-crafted hooks, the album lands gently with a hauntingly beautiful ballad.
Blending together a variety of folk, rock, and country influences, Halling transforms them into a sound entirely his own. His knack for storytelling is evident within his honest and poignant thoughts on life in the twenty-first century. With equal parts cynicism and romantic whit, his collection of songs reflect on all the troubles that come with love, loss, lust, and temptation - spoken by the voice of someone who lived to tell the tale.
Born in Kansas City, KS, Halling and his family relocated to North East Ohio in 2001. At age 13, he was given his first guitar. Following his high school graduation, Halling started writing and performing while attending Kent State University - where he studied Anthropology. Several years of both personal and musical development eventually lead to his breakaway as a solo artist in 2013.
A local favorite, Halling’s raw and emotional performances create a meaningful connection with listeners. Whether with his band, or just his guitar, his distinctive voice and high-energy folk songs quickly capture the attention of audience members. With a nation-wide tour in support of his new record Boy in the Water scheduled for Summer 2015, this up-and-comer is a must see!
